Forming Divinity“ haben wir die skulpturale Installation des ukrainischen Künstlers Aljoscha genannt, die im Foyer des Kunstquartiers Hagen für einige Monate unsere Besucherinnen und Besucher faszinieren wird. Der Titel mag rätselhaft klingen. Er bezieht sich einerseits auf stille Momente, andererseits hat er eine visionäre und bioethische Dimension. Aljoscha beschäftigt sich in seiner künstlerischen Arbeit mit Erkenntnissen der Bio- und Gentechnologie. Der Mikrokosmos kleinteiliger Materie ist für ihn immer auch geistiger Stoff, der ihn zu seinen bisweilen wundersamen und rätselverbundenen Acrylglas-Objekten inspiriert. Diese filigranen Skulpturen im Raum, die zugleich auch eine dreidimensionale zeichnerische Dimension haben, verzaubern das Foyer unseres Kunstquartiers, in dem dieses optisch und poetisch erhöht wird. Bioismus, so lässt der Künstler uns wissen, ist der Versuch neue biofuturistische Formen zu entwickeln. Solche, die auch zu einer neuen Ästhetik führen und – im virtuellen Sinne – eine eigene Vitalität entwickeln. Aljoschas schwebenden Acrylobjekte entstehen durch Erhitzung sowie eine Bearbeitung mit transparentem Acryllack. In unserer Installation sind die Fäden verbindende Brücken zu den in rosa gehaltenen Objekten. Der biologische Kontext wird offenbar, nämlich in dem Moment, in dem wir uns mit diesen himmelskörperähnlichen transparenten Superwesen beschäftigen. In Gedanken verbinden wir uns mit dieser Leichtigkeit, die eine fast außerirdische Ästhetik und womöglich auch eine neue Ethik jenseits von Gewalt offenbart. Forming Divinity” is the name we gave to the sculptural installation by the Ukrainian artist Aljoscha, which will fascinate our visitors for a few months in the foyer of the Kunstquartier Hagen. The title may sound enigmatic. On the one hand it refers to quiet moments, on the other hand it has a visionary and bioethical dimension. In his artistic work, Aljoscha deals with the findings of biotechnology and genetic engineering. For him, the microcosm of small-scale matter is always spiritual material, which inspires him to create his sometimes wondrous and enigmatic acrylic glass objects. These filigree sculptures in space, which also have a three-dimensional graphic dimension, enchant the foyer of our art district, in which it is optically and poetically elevated. Bioism, the artist tells us, is an attempt to develop new biofuturistic forms. Those that also lead to a new aesthetic and – in a virtual sense – develop their own vitality. Aljoscha's floating acrylic objects are created through heating and treatment with transparent acrylic paint. In our installation, the threads are connecting bridges to the objects in pink. The biological context becomes apparent the moment we engage with these celestial body-like transparent super-beings. In our thoughts we connect with this lightness, which reveals an almost extraterrestrial aesthetic and possibly also a new ethic beyond violence.
